This month we are inducting key members into Northstar’s Wall of Fame who have demonstrated the key traits of being a Northstar and have accomplished a level of fitness and lifestyle that exhibits the Northstar way. This month we are recognizing Bonny Young!
Bonny Young has elegantly traversed Northstar’s nine step Maximum Muscle Potential Method, and embodies what Northstar set out to do to transform lives and help clients reach new heights that were not previously conceivable.
Bonny regularly sets ambitious goals in alignment with her busy, active lifestyle. She has recently gone hiking safari in Africa, hiking part of Mt Kilimanjaro. Her stamina has improved leaps and bounds, going from little to no stamina to mastery of breathing and developing graceful technique. Her strength, balance, and neuromuscular control have all achieved nearly all top marks, yet she recognizes there’s always something more. And most importantly, she’s been open to our coaching and feedback, and even when we have to dial it back to ensure that the form matters over amount, she’s been very receptive to our coaching.
And the physical growth is not all, her infectious positivity is shared with other Northstars in the studio, whether it be a kind recognition of the hard work, showing up, cheering on when a fellow Northstar is giving their all, or being a pick-me-up on a down day.
Through COVID, we had to significantly adapt and come up with solutions for every client, doing virtual training with Bonny while she was in her office as Nurse Manager at Fransiscan Clinic/Mayo Health Systems. She has always been very committed and dedicated. She not only has changed her physical abilities and appearance, but she’s also beautifully transformed her mind. Her confidence radiates, clarity of mind, decisiveness have all been positively affected through the regular muscle activation, which keeps one sharp at any age.
And all this was not without setback. Recently, Bonny lost her dear husband, who, a true romantic, would read poems to Bonny by the fire. Losing someone is never easy, but what Bonny has shown is that she has gained tremendously. She’s able to carry on his legacy as a mother and grandmother and friend, and is spreading joy and goodness and positivity, being that Northstar for others.
Bonny has 4 children and 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, and she aims to see each of them regularly. She has developed a keen sense of when others are down, and through her trials and tribulations and regular fitness and prayer routine, she is a wonderful example to those around her. A true Northstar.
Congratulations, Bonny!
